Our Restaurants
At the Royal Oak we have a choice of two restaurants:
The Nook
A more formal dining area yet with the homely feel that is reflected throughout the hotel. The design has let the building dictate the look, we've brought the outside in, earthy tones and botanical greens, a timeless look, appealing to all ages.
The Poets Corner
With its country farmhouse ambiance, it's the favourite choice for breakfast but doubles up as an evening dining area for guests who want the more casual approach or want to dine with their pet dogs.

Our Bar
Our bar has a warming, relaxing and intimate atmosphere. Enjoy our selection of carefully picked wines, not to mention the lengths we went to personally to taste all the beers in the whole of The Lake District and bring you our choice local cask ales and craft beers so you can immerse yourself in the craftsmanship the Lake District has to offer.
We like to keep our suppliers local and that includes family-owned Tirrils Brewery who produce our carefully chosen bar selection, brewers of traditional ales since 1999, they are one of Cumbria's longest-established breweries.
Our Lounge and Snug Room
If you're here to meet like-minded people or just to relax and quietly take in the atmosphere, we think we’ve created the right space. Some new and some refurbished furniture, in the lounge by the fire or in the snug reading a book. Listen to the days adventure stories being shared or play a board game or cards with friends. If you’re comfortable at your dinner table you can stay there to drink and finish off your evening.
