The main house is a fine example of a Cumberland Longhouse and dates from about 1750. Formerly a farm & miner’s tavern our dining room, lounges and bar retain and reflect this heritage. Our style is more akin to a quality alpine pension or catered chalet than that of a modern boutique hotel.
In the main hotel there are eight en-suite rooms each with individual charm. These are a mix of double, twin and family rooms. There are also two single rooms; each with its own convenient private bathroom.
Across the old farmyard is “Merrybreeches” our converted barn with views of Stonethwaite Beck. This riverside annexe provides an additional four spacious rooms, again all en suite. In the adjacent building we also offer, for longer lets our ever popular small apartment – “Beck Bank Barn.” All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities.
The hotel has a television lounge with free WiFi access, an efficient drying room and off street parking for fifteen cars.
